# Progress report for Sheffield Michael Croucher and Neil Lawrence Reporting period from Sept. 2015 to February 2017 --- ## Financial and administrative setup - PI changed from Neil Lawrence to Mike Croucher. - Prof. Guy Brown (Head of Computer Science) joins as Co-I --- ## Hiring - Hired 2 positions for the remainder of the project - Tania Allard - Will Furnass --- ## Achievements - Prototype SunGridEngine support for Project Jupyter. In production at Sheffield. - Developed on-boarding course for SMC for lecturers and delivered to departments in Sheffield. - Supported several lecturers in Sheffield to migrate to Jupyter/SageMathCloud including Physics, Biomedical Sciences and Computer Science. - Open Data Science Meetups held across September to December 2015 - Data@Sheffield event for highlighting activities. - Repository of courses delivered on SMC started. - EPSRC Fellowship for Mike Croucher is expanding our agenda and remit nationwide. --- ## Work on Deliverables - Deliverables - D5.6 SGE Support for Project Jupyter Hub (M12, September 1st?). - Prototype has been installed on Sheffield's HPC system.
